StatusDesign proposal

Executive direction

Friendly, premium and calm—with a little personality.

Spotless has credible, differentiating strengths: Stephanie’s experience, professional qualification, competition recognition and a loyal customer base. The proposal turns those strengths into a clear story and makes calling or requesting an appointment easy on any screen.

01 / Business opportunity

Strengths to foreground

  • Stephanie Lawless’s personal ownership and experience since 2003.
  • City & Guilds qualification and competition recognition.
  • Breed-aware consultation and practical lifestyle styling.
  • Detailed arrival guidance, address, phone and opening hours.

Growth opportunities

  • Lead with proof, owner outcomes and Stephanie’s personality.
  • Group nine small service fragments into a clear end-to-end routine.
  • Keep a phone action visible and add a short appointment-request path.
  • Curate a concise portfolio of memorable finished grooms.
  • Separate grooming observations from veterinary diagnosis or treatment.

02 / Relevant digital signals

01

Distinctive, tactile art direction

Contemporary sites are reintroducing depth, deliberate light and tactile details. Here that becomes soft card depth, expressive type and restrained hover and focus feedback.

02

Performance is part of the design

Google’s current Core Web Vitals measure loading, responsiveness and visual stability. The concept uses one local hero image, fixed image dimensions, plain HTML/CSS and minimal JavaScript.

03

Accessible actions by default

WCAG 2.2 adds guidance for visible focus, unobscured controls and minimum target size. Buttons and links are large, high-contrast, keyboard reachable and never dependent on dragging.

04

Structured local clarity

Google supports LocalBusiness data for details such as address and opening hours. Pairing that markup with clear visible information helps the business show up consistently.

05

Booking begins with fit

Grooming requests depend on breed, coat and condition, so the concept asks for useful context before implying a confirmed slot or fixed price.

06

Art-directed imagery builds recognition

A distinctive photography direction helps Spotless feel its own. A finished campaign can combine warm portraits of Stephanie, the grooming space and real finished grooms.

03 / Google review themes

The reviews favour a warm, personal expression.

The Google listing showed 5.0 from 32 public reviews on 15 September 2026. The visible written reviews repeatedly associate Stephanie with friendliness, professionalism, attentive listening, useful suggestions and an ability to gain dogs’ trust. Owners describe dogs as relaxed or happy and several imply repeat custom. Together, these themes support a warm, personal and reassuring creative direction.

04 / Design system

Position

Direction A is expert and direct; Direction B is warm, familiar and personally reassuring.

Palette

A uses ink navy, powder blue and orange. B is approximately 65% warm cream, 20% deep green, 10% soft yellow and 5% muted coral.

Type

Both avoid The Dog Salon’s serif-led elegance: A is technical and blocky; B uses friendly, expressive grotesque type.

Composition

A uses ruled systems and numbers. B uses a calm cream canvas, softer cards, generous spacing and photography-led moments.

05 / Deliberately different from The Dog Salon

The Dog Salon concept

Warm cream and plum; soft serif headlines; rounded forms; boutique, gentle one-to-one care.

Spotless concept

Warm cream and deep green; expressive sans-serif typography; playful accents; neighbourly confidence grounded in reviews.

06 / Suggested next steps

  1. Agree the featured service list, pricing model and preferred booking route.
  2. Shape the featured service list, qualifications and opening hours into the final content plan.
  3. Commission authentic photography with owner consent and descriptive alt text.
  4. Review health-related service wording with appropriate professional advice.
  5. Add privacy information, spam protection and a secure form processor.
  6. Implement LocalBusiness structured data and test real mobile performance.
